About the event
MBCT is an evidence-based treatment shown to reduce depression relapse and to support those dealing with depression and anxiety. Mindfulness-based interventions have been shown to be equal in efficacy to medications, exercise, and psychotherapy. This orientation and information session will be an opportunity for you to come out and learn about mindfulness meditation and ask any questions you have about the practice and to learn more about the structure of this workshop series as well as the requirements for participation. There will be a short practice, a Q+A, and a video about mindfulness in a healthcare setting. Dr. Shira Taylor has over 25 years of experience with mindfulness meditation and looks forward to sharing her experience with you!
