About the event

Beyond the Conditioned Mind

8 Tuesdays starting October 3 -  from 7 to 8:30 pm ET - on Zoom

Habitual thoughts and subsequent actions condition the mind. This conditioning cloaks the truth of the present moment and hinders clear seeing leading to suffering. What we feed the mind becomes our reality. As a community of spiritual friends, we will bring awareness to these habits and patterns and cultivate the wisdom of the Buddha's teachings in everyday life.

Each week we will explore a topic related to releasing habits of mind through meditation, reflection and contemplative dialogue.

Spiritual Friendship is the foundation of this gathering and based on the principles of Insight Dialogue (ID). No previous experience with ID is required.

Registration fee is $35. Participants will have the opportunity to offer dana to the teacher at the end of the course.

About the facilitator, Carolynn Barko:

"Carolynn is a very knowledgeable and skilled facilitator. Her presentation of the Noble Eightfold Path and Insight Dialogue exceeded my expectations. I will definitely attend future programs offered by CMM and facilitated by Carolynn."

"Carolynn and the Noble Eightfold Path course encouraged spiritual friendship as one of the most valuable and giving ways to nurture a mindfulness practice. The shell around this heart is gently crumbling, realising the possibility and promise of awakening to suffering, and deeply connecting to the humanity that we all share. Carolynn has been a steadfast companion, along with all of the program participants, on this journey. I learned, and importantly, experienced, a lot of release, healing and gentle wisdom by participating in this course."

"Carolynn's facilitation of The Noble Eight Fold Path course was informative and accessible with practical and useful tips for incorporating the Dhamma into everyday life. Her welcoming style provided an opportunity for each person to examine their practice in a safe, non-judgmental space.  With much gratitude to CB and the group members.”
